MHS/CHATCO FOOTBALL GAME WILL PROCEED AS SCHEDULED – OCTOBER 2ND!!!
On October 1, 2020, Dr. Griffin, MCSS Superintendent, had a conference call with Dr. Beverly Townsend, Georgia Department of Public Health Director for District 4 (serves Meriwether County) and District 7 (serves Chattahoochee County), and representatives for both District 4 and District 7 of the Georgia Department of Public Health. This call confirmed that proper quarantining occurred in Chattahoochee County regarding COVID positive case(s) on their football team. Today’s (10/1/2020) information is an update to the information we were presented with yesterday (9/30/2020) where there were concerns on the part of the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a result of this updated information from the Georgia Department of Public Health, the football game between Manchester High and Chattahoochee County High will be played as scheduled on Friday, October 2, 2020, at Chattahoochee County High School in Cusseta, Georgia. The health and safety of students and staff must be the top priority, and Dr. Griffin feels confident, based on this updated information he received, that we are safe to proceed with the football game as scheduled on Friday.
